Altered projects

I'm on a hybrid kick right now. But it's so much fun! And everything is so cute! I used kits from Cottage arts for all of these projects below. Specific kit info is in the credits.

Aren't these the cutest Teacher gifts??? They were a lot of fun to make too.
credits: These turned out sooo cute! I've been saving jars for little gifts like this. I used the Study Buddy Page Pak with alpha to make both of these coordinating gifts. I also used the butterflies from Butterfly wings 2 page pak, and the tape and staples from the scrap attachments pak. I made my labels, the poem reads : Thank you for the job that you've done. You've enriched our lives each and every one. I'll think of you findly with each passing year as I build on the foundation that you started here". I printed out my label (I used 9x3 inch) taped it on with double sided sticky tape, then added ribbon. My 4 year old son painted the lids for me. I modge podged it all.The cards are made using the same kits as above. They say, " Thank you for a great year. and then A teacher gives a child her wings".

credits: I LOVE these altered notepads. I made this one super quick and easy by using my favorite, Sweet Innocence 12x12 Album Pak. My notebook is 4x8 so I just opened up a blank page in PSE and then resized and moved around the page until I was happy with the placement. All I had to do then was type in my words, print, glue with spray glue and then modge podge. I added some fun ribbon, a charm that I had lying around, and a button.

Hybrid books, movies, and more!

Here is a page (or two) out of a hybrid word book I made for my niece's birthday. Isn't she adorable? That's her. Well, the book turned out awsome and I hope she likes it. It has carry handles, and glittery flowers, and is just fun. I think I'm hooked on hybrid books. I made these pages using Cottage Arts kits. MOVIES.... anyone seen any great ones lately? We have. My Mom and I watched The Ultimate Gift and Wow! What an awsome movie. Thanks Christina (it was my Birthday present). It was just really good and makes you think... and cry a little.

Then Ray and I just watched PS I LOVE YOU last night. WOWWWW!! Ok. Awsome movie but you WILL cry. OK, if you're a girl you'll cry. Ray didn't get all the crying. I cried throught but it was awsome nonetheless. If you watch it, let me know your thoughts. We also watched 27 Dresses last week and that one was a good one too.

And NO, nobody has guessed my What is it contest picture below several posts. Here's another hint. My kids all use them, they're disposable, and I COULD use them but just don't. It's obviously been torn up by one of my DSs, and has actually then been plastered on the mirror in the bathroom. Why? I don't know. They're boys. It's what they do.

Family book

I just LOVE making these books. They are so darn cute! Isn't this adorable?? I thought so. So did my Mom. These are just some of the pages (obviously) from the book. It is too cute!

I used the Family Board book by Unique pages sold at Elemental Scraps (they have a whole new hybrid section that is to die for!!), Isyndra's Soft dream kit also at ES, and a freebie word art from WWF for the back there. Bunches of flowers, ribbons, rub ons, etc. from my stash to dress it up a bit. It is too cute! They have all kinds of books and you can even get a custom name book made...hmmmm I hear Christmas and birthdays SCREAMING at me here. So, after looking at my blog, run over and grab one for yourself.

Spring door hanger

Isn't this the cutest? I used the Happy Easter kit by Anja over at ES along with the ES mega kit Zazzle (which is SOOOO awsome and packed full) to make this hybrid doorhanger. The doorhanger template is for the blog challenge over there by Orianna.

LOVE Gum Wrappers

Aren't these the CUTEST?! I just LOVE this idea. So cute, easy, and inexpensive. Mine are for the Trident gum packs. I made this set using Julie Mead's Fresh Powder kit. If you haven't been to CA lately, you should pop on over. They have SOOO much new stuff it's amazing.

Yeah!! Magic Reindeer Food Freebie

Aren't these the CUTEST?! I made them for my DD and boys' classmates. They are too cute. The picture doesn't do them justice.

Directions: Click HERE for the recipe for Reindeer Food. Make up a batch to put in the bags.

Then print the Treat Topper with the width set at 3.5 inches. This should automatically adjust the height to 4.25. I printed them out on matt 4x6 photo paper. Cut them out, folded them in half. Put about 1/3 cup of the reindeer food in one of those small celophane baggs by Wilton (I got mine at Michaels), slip the treat topper over the top, and staple along the sprinkle line twice. Write in your to and from either before attaching or after. You're done and they are oh so cute!!

Hoots and Hallows kit

I am having such fun with the Hoots and Hallows kit from Cottage Arts. I made my "new" purse tonight- and yes I have nothing better to do. Being the super Mom that I am everything is clean and put away- HA!
















But I did it anyway. AND I made the most adorable little treat "bags" ever. I showed them to my DH and I'm sure the only reason I didn't get a standing ovation was b/c he was practicing his guitar for church.

School photo cards!

OK. So, I confess I rarely have my own ideas. I am a professional watcher and idea hunter. So, in a catalog recently I found this cute school photo card. I thought, that is cute, but I could so make that. And I did. It's super simple, but print it out on 4x6 photo paper and pop a stamp and address info on the back. Viola! Instant cute card for the relatives. Much cuter on the fridge than just that little bitty photo. I used SFreeman's Back2school kit- it's a freebie over at 2 peas. Thanks! The font on the template is 1942 report.
