2nd Rain out!

Well, they each got in 2 races before we had a rain out on our second meet. They did great though. Aidan came in second in the freestyle, and unfortunately, I missed the first one his relay.

Hailey's relay won, and then she came in a close 3rd in the breast stroke. I just realized that Hailey's relay got cut off before she even started!

On both of the relays they are in the second closest lane to me. Hailey flopped her dive, but came back.

1st Swim Meet

Hailey in her first race of the day... a relay. She is in the second lane from me. Swimming breast stroke.

Aidan's first solo race. He did very well and finished 2nd. If he would just stop stopping and keep his face in and arms out the WHOLE time....Oh, and he's in the far lane.

Aidan's actual first race ever. A relay where they all swam freestyle. He didn't get the whole relay concept though and I wish I had kept the camera rolling b/c when he finished and got out he stood there for a moment watching them all swimming away. Everyone was yelling go! go! (to the other swimmers in the water) and so, he jumped back in and did it again!

And then while Hailey was in the chairs waiting her next race, it thundered. So there was a 20 min. wait and then there was lightening so it was called off. Poor things were pretty upset.

Holiday Concert

Hey all. These videos are NOT for your viewing pleasure, more listening pleasure. It's taken with my little flip video by Ray while I photograph (you can hear the click of me sometimes). We thought you'd like to hear though. Hailey is in the first 3. She's in the second row third from the right and wearing a grey dress.

Aidan is in the other two and poor thing had stage fright bad. He's front row wearing a white shirt and red tie. He's about the 6th kid from the left. He doesn't move except turning his head once the whole time I think.

I gotta hunch it's gonna be a nice nice Christmas this year.

Race Days

We had another Race Days at Macher tonight. Hailey swam in a LOT of races. She did 3 lengths of everystroke, and then 1 lenght of freestyle and 1 of backstroke. The 3 lengths was tough for her but she did her best. She won the 1 length backstroke with a time of 14.81, and came in 3rd on the 1 length freestyle (the video looks like she came in 2nd, but there were two groups of each going so they go by time). Her time on that was 14.9

1 length freestyle: Blake suit and cap- middle

Swim Meet #2

Hailey in her first race today. Freestyle. She is in the next to last lane from where I am. Black suit and pink goggles, no swim cap. We'll be getting that and our official suit tomorrow. Sorry about the wiggle. I had to squat down to be able to view her with those flags hanging down at the beginning, but then I had to get up to keep seeing her.... She came in 3rd on that one I think.

And this is her backstroke. She is in the closest lane to me. She did AWSOME in this one. She where she starts?? She finishes second!

Her other race was a relay and she was tired by then (it was almost 8pm) so she was showing that and I don't know how those girls finished b/c I was talking with a parent when Hailey got out... I think maybe they came in 3rd...

Today

CanonBall!!! Aidan is perfecting the canon ball right now. He is talking off camera to a new friend at the pool (and from church). I don't know who that girl is. Some pesky little girl getting in the way of my video. ha ha. She's a cutie though.

Here is is imitating a seal. Ok, he's not really, but that does look like what he's doing. He's showing his dive. And NO, he does not want to stand up right now. Maybe later.

Ok. NOW he's gonna dive for you off the block. Just an FYI, he does NOT hit his head. Take a deep breath and RELAX. I keep telling him he needs some air. Jump out boy! Nope not gonna do it.

This one is called the pencil. Not friend and lifeguard Chris who steps in. I think he did that on purpose! Do you know how large this pool is?! and he picks THAT SPOT to come to.... yeah, I don't think so. Not that I'm complainin or anything....

Hailey figured out what we were doing so she had to dive too. We're working on diving out and keeping those legs straight. She's going to be a waterdog this year. Along with friends Bryce and Isaac. I'm sure she'll get more "girl friends" later in life. She's just use to boys with her two brothers and all. And those girls just want to play with barbies and princesses- yuck! Although I have been informed that Jasmine and Ariel are not too bad.

Blake wasn't playing with us today for some reason. The waters a bit too cold for him yet I think. He just wandered around mostly.

When kids play with video equipment

So, my DD had to go to Staci's with me while I got my haircut. Oh, and if you live around here, Staci is AWSOME. Her studio is Quola (a combination of both her daughter's names). Anyway, my dd got bored and I let her play with my flipvideo. See what a flipvideo is capable of in a child's hands.... and don't eat anything for a while before or during viewing. Ugh!

He's really perfecting the in water freestyle. See, he does the stroke pretty good, but it's all in the water. He's rather fast and good at it though so he's seeing no reason to change his ways.

Aidan is tired at the end of the lesson (boy on left with Adam) and so he doesn't want to swim on top of the water. Then I switch my attention to the little munchkin fish jumping off the block- that'd be Blake.

Race Days Feb. 16th

Here's Hailey's freestyle swim. She's in the middle lane. I realize we have to work on diving off the block... she can dive in off the side, but has never done it off the block. These are from the Race Days today, so it's not an actual meet, but more of a practice kinda thing to work on how racing goes, times, etc.

This is my daughter and Isaac.... he loves her, she loves him.... aren't they adorable? He is soooo cute! And well, of course she's adorable. She has red rings around her eyes b/c she was wearing her goggles. Yes, I know her hair's not wet... she was wearing them to play around in. Actually, the first picture I got of them she was wearing them and I had to retake it b/c well, she was wearing goggles. I'm not sure how long the romance will last, she's moving days for swim squad, b/c she wants to be in Adams class. And really, who can blame her?
